For those who have been wondering about the whereabouts of Jon Gosselin, former reality TV star of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, he has recently opened up about his life after years of bitter court battles with his ex-wife Kate.
Jon revealed that he is now ready to rebuild relationships with his six estranged children, as the tumultuous chapter of legal disputes with Kate comes to a close.
Jon and Kate, who divorced in 2009, share 18-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Leah, Collin, and Hannah, as well as 21-year-old twin daughters Mady and Cara.
© NBC NewsWireCollin and Hannah chose to live with Jon in Pennsylvania during their teenage years, but Jon’s relationship with the siblings who stayed with Kate remained strained, with minimal communication between them.
In a recent interview with U.S. Sun, Jon expressed hope for reconnecting with his children now that they are adults and less influenced by their mother’s opinions.
He said: “My door has always been open to them, and I hope now they are adults they may want to reach out”.
He also shared his feelings of relief and freedom now that the court battles with Kate have concluded. Both Jon and Kate have signed termination agreements, putting an end to their legal struggles.
Jon described his current state as: “euphoric,” adding: “It’s been 14 years of court, and now it is finally over… It’s finally over, I don’t have to deal with her, with court hearings, lawyers – it’s done. I can get on with my life; it’s such a good feeling.”
Jon also shared that he is looking forward to moving on with his life and focusing on his DJing work.
He said: “Now there’s no custody and no child support because the kids are adults, and the cases are all closed. It’s a weird feeling. I never really planned for it.”
The former couple starred together in Jon and Kate Plus Eight for five seasons until their divorce.
Kate went on to film six more seasons under the new title, Kate Plus Eight. However, the show was eventually canceled after Jon filed a petition accusing Kate of filming the children without his consent.
Last year, Jon alleged that Kate “stole” more than $100,000 from bank accounts belonging to their children.
Now that the legal battles are over, and the children are adults, Jon and Kate no longer need to be in contact, paving the way for a new chapter in their lives.
