ACTRESS Victoria Justice has left Ariana Grande singing the blues after the star clapped back against a famous meme of the once feuding co-stars.
The Victorious star’s joke was said to “break the internet.”
From 2010 to 2013, Ariana and Victoria starred on Victorious as Cat Valentine and Tori Vega, respectively.
While Victorious might have been Ariana’s big break, Victoria was already a Nickelodeon icon thanks to her role as Lola Martinez on Zoey 101, and there were long rumors of jealousy between the two.
Several years ago, Victoria and some of her castmates, minus Ariana, gave an interview about the show, and their various vocal talents.
“One thing you don’t know about Ariana Grande is that she literally sings everything,” Victorious cast member Elizabeth Gillies said in the clip, causing Victoria to slightly cringe.
“You sing a lot too,” Daniella Monet, who played Trina Vega on the show, complimented Elizabeth.
However, before she could continue her thought, Victoria butted in and snarked, “I think we all sing.”
The slam became an instant meme, fueling rumors of a feud.
SO SMOOTHIE
Now, Victoria seems ready to laugh at the outcry.
In a new video she shared on Instagram, the 31-year-old shared a smoothie recipe with Daniella, 35, with whom she is still friends.
At one point during the instructional video, Victoria randomly broke into song.
“Sing it!” Daniella encouraged, before downplaying her own skills. “Somebody’s gotta sing, it ain’t me.”
Victoria immediately shot back, “I think we all sing, Daniella,” causing both ladies to crack up.
“If you use that, it would break the internet,” a shocked Daniella replied.
INTERNET BROKEN
Indeed, Daniella was right.
Fans went wild on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, at the resurrected slam.
“Omg I can’t believe you SAID IT, HAHAHAHA,” one person tweeted.
“She literally ended Ariana there,” another posted.
The way Victoria used a meme ppl used against her for so long is so funny,” a third person boasted.
“It’s cool that she could just laugh about it now,” a fourth noted.
A GRANDE FEUD
Ariana and Victoria’s feud dates back to February 2013, when Ariana took to her ask.fm account to seemingly call out her co-star.
At the time, fans blamed Ariana for the cancellation of Victorious, claiming that her Sam & Cat spin-off series with Jennette McCurdy was the reason it ended.
But the now 30-year-old pointed her fingers at Victoria.
“Sweetheart the only reason Victorious ended is because 1 girl didn’t want to do it,” Ariana wrote at the time, via Seventeen.
“She chose to do a solo tour instead of a cast tour. If we had done a cast tour Nickelodeon would have ordered another season of Victorious while Sam & Cat filmed simultaneously but she chose otherwise. I’m sick of this bs.”
That same summer, Victoria went on tour.
She later clapped back and called out Ariana on Twitter, writing, “Some people would throw some1 that they consider a friend under the bus just 2 make themselves look good. #StopBeingAPhony #IfTheyOnlyKnew.”
FINDING PEACE
The feud rumors between Ariana and Victoria circulated for years, but in March 2021, the Zoey 101 alum seemingly ended them once and for all.
During an appearance on the Chicks in the Office podcast, Victoria opened up about her relationship with Ariana, revealing that “everything’s all good.”
“All of that drama, whatever, all of that stuff is, it’s so silly,” she said at the time, via E! News.
“A lot of it really came from, like, the media, like, fanning those flames and then just people online, like, fanning those flames and making it this huge crazy thing.”
“I love Ariana, and she’s killing it right now,” Victoria added, “and she’s been so supportive of me and my music. And you know, we text. It’s really cool. So, everything’s all good.”
