The Manistee County Democratic Party will hold their regular monthly meeting at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, at the Onekama Village Park picnic pavilion in the village of Onekama. These monthly meetings are intended to provide information on key subjects of interest to residents of Manistee County directly from subject matter experts. These information sessions are designed to reduce the spread of misinformation and educate voters on issues that have a direct impact on the quality of life for everyone in Manistee County.
The July meeting will feature the annual summer picnic with bratwurst from the grill and side dishes provided by those who attend. Note the earlier start time for this meeting to enable attendees to gather on the shore of beautiful Portage Lake to share a good meal and conversation with like-minded folks who value social, economic and environmental justice.
After the meal, Bryan Watson of the Democrats 101 organization will present a program. Watson will share the work his organization has done to help Democratic party organizations across the nation actively work to reclaim American vision and values. Democrats 101 is helping the Manistee County Democrats to become more than a political party. They are helping local party organizations more effectively demonstrate that by working together we can overcome name-calling, misleading labels, lies and misinformation to make a difference and facilitate change for the greater good in all levels of elected government.
