Instagram Blog DeuxMoi Lands Hour-Long Series at HBO Max

There are Instagram gossip blogs, and then there’s DeuxMoi. With over 1.5 million followers on IG, DeuxMoi is known for spilling the juiciest tea on the latest celebrity news, and now the popular account is headed to print and the small screen. According to Deadline, HBO Max inked a script-to-series order of Anon Pls, DeuxMoi’s forthcoming debut novel, which will be released on November 8.

The hour-long drama series will highlight the journey of how the pseudonymous IG account began. According to a synopsis on Harper Collins, Anon Pls, the novel, will follow “Cricket Lopez, assistant to one of the most notorious celebrity stylists,” as she “revamps her old style Instagram account and turns it into a celebrity gossip blog on a drunken whim.” Cricket “never thinks it will become anything. It’s just a way to blow off steam after a terrible, terrible day at work where her nightmarish boss screams at her and blames her for some 18-year-old influencer’s screw-up. But when the account grows overnight and, even wilder, when she starts getting gossip from fans – juicy gossip – she has to face facts: her Instagram is now famous. She is now famous.”

Along with the highs and lows of running an A-list blog while working as an assistant, Cricket “has celebrities, investors, and journalists approaching her with bright-eyed interest. Plus, there’s a steamy new love interest who she meets through her online persona— except she has no idea if she can truly trust his motives. But as the account grows and becomes more and more famous, she has to wonder: is it – the fame, the insider access, the escape from real life – really worth losing everything she has?”

DeuxMoi’s creator works hard to conceal their identity, but the blogger has gone on the record about running such a successful account. Most recently, DeuxMoi chatted with StyleCaster about if they would prefer to be compared to classic gossip icons on Gossip Girl or Bridgerton. “I personally relate more to the way Lady Whistledown carries herself than Gossip Girl carries themselves,” the anonymous blogger said. “On the show, people almost want to be featured in [Lady Whistledown’s] paper. It kind of cements their popularity and place in society when they’re mentioned. And she’s not mean.”

HBO Max has not confirmed news about the show’s cast and release date, but we’re certainly on the case awaiting further details.

From the sound of the novel, Anon Pls, the series will be filled with twists and turns, and I, for one, am counting down the days until it airs.
