Although it has been a few weeks since Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after the latter made a joke about his wife’s alopecia, the Oscar winner for Best Actor is still being criticized for his actions at the Academy Awards Ceremony.
Initially, Smith had the support of his wife, Jada Pinkett, but days later the also actress made some controversial statements in which she seemed to leave her partner alone.

However, Will continues to be backed by the support of his family and his close circle, which includes famous personalities of the entertainment industry, actors with whom Smith has worked before and have created bonds of friendship that have endured over time.
Denzel Washington
Just a few of them, like fellow Best Actor Oscar winner Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, consoled the actor shortly after he slapped Rock on March 27 and demanded he “keep my wife’s name out your f****** mouth.”
Smith even mentioned Washington during his Best Actor acceptance speech, confessing that “Denzel said to me a few minutes ago, he said, ‘At your highest moment, be careful. That’s when the devil comes for you.’ It’s, like, I want to be a vessel for love.”
Tyler Perry
Days later, Denzel again publicly showed his support for Will and Perry is another actor who has a history with Smith, so he didn’t hesitate to come to his side during the Oscars 2022 incident.
Jordyn Woods
Model Jordyn Woods, who has been part of the Red Table Talk project alongside Pinkett, has also maintained a strong friendship with Smith for years, even the actor worked with her father on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when she was not yet born.
DJ Jazzy Jeff
Jeffrey Allen Townes, better known as DJ Jazzy Jeff, has known Smith since the days when the two formed the rap duo DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.
“Me and DJ Jazzy Jeff got started in Philly over 30 years ago,” Smith said in 2019. “There has never been a time in my life when I didn’t look to the side and have a great friend, and it is so important who your friends are. And DJ Jazzy Jeff, for more than half of my life, has been one of the best friends I’ve ever had in this world.”
Martin Lawrence
Since filming the first part of the Bad Boys saga together, Smith and Martin Lawrence have remained friends, as both have said.
“I love this guy. I don’t get to see him much because he’s working all the time, but I love him. We’re the best of friends,” Lawrence told on “Sway’s Universe.”
