Taylor Swift breaks Spotify record with new album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, BTS’ Jungkook joins her on Top charts | Music News

Taylor Swift has once again shattered records with her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” as it becomes the first album to surpass 300 million streams in a single day on Spotify, becoming the platform’s most-streamed album in a single day, and Taylor Swift became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.

“History made!” exclaimed the company on Twitter. “On April 19, 2024, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department was the first album in Spotify history to have over 300M streams in a single day,” the caption read.

The album’s track “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, claimed the title of the platform’s most-streamed song in a single day, topping Adele’s “Easy on Me” (set in 2021). Other tracks from the album, such as “Down Bad,” “The Tortured Poets Department,” “So Long, London,” and “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart,” also soared to the top of the charts.

Earlier reports on Friday had already confirmed that with the release of her new album, Taylor Swift had secured the title of the most streamed artist in a single day in Spotify’s history. This accomplishment comes after she previously broke her own record as the most streamed artist in a single day with the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” in October of the previous year.

While Taylor Swift basks in her success, BTS’ Jungkook is also enjoying a triumph of his own with his song “Seven” from his album “Golden.” The track has secured a spot in Spotify’s top 10 most successful debut tracks list. Although the list is dominated by Taylor’s new tracks, Jungkook’s “Seven” from his album “Golden” has managed to claim the 8th position. The K-Pop idol collaborated with Latoo for this beat, which garnered an impressive 16 million streams for its debut on the platform.
