I have numerous Drake mouthpieces in my personal collection and I can confirm they are all handfaced. The material is not to everybody’s liking but Aaron is great to deal with and he is an excellent craftman.

I don’t think Steve’s wonderful review is the place for an extended conversation regarding this, but my experiences are on the opposite end of the spectrum. I have adored Aaron as his metal and ceramic pieces were/are phenomenal, but in the past few years, I haven’t come across one of his molded resin mouthpieces that was hand faced save one that was exceptionally well done and signed by another refacer. Worse yet, the tables were convex and there were no discernible break points. That’s all I will say regarding this in this thread.

All I know for sure, owning several Drake pieces (including the FG) is they are the best mouthpieces I’ve ever played. I’m assuming they’re hand worked by Aaron, but truth be told I really don’t care. They’re still the best I’ve ever played. Reeds seal very well, E and D are not dull, all the reeds I’ve tried work well, they’re reasonably priced and Aaron is great to work with. The FG, for my ear, is the best of the best. It offers the sound concept I’ve always wanted. I’ve sincerely tried to find better, but I can’t.
