Actor-model Mia Khalifa made it to the top of the trends list on X on Monday for her views and opinions amid the war between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. The former adult film actress has been posting on X in support of Palestine and has also lashed out at fashion mogul Kylie Jenner for her pro-Israel Instagram story.
Over 1,100 people have been killed in Israel and Gaza so far since Hamas terrorists on Saturday infiltrated into Israel and launched more than 3,000 rockets from Gaza, and the subsequent Israel Defense Forces counter-attack.
Mia, in the meantime, has picked a side and several sections aren’t pleased at all. “If you can look at the situation in Palestine and not be on the side of Palestinians, then you are on the wrong side of apartheid and history will show that in time,” was the first post Mia shared on October 7 that went viral with over 20 million impressions.
She was censured by social media users for her post, with people calling her “disgusting” in the comments. For instance, a user said, “If you can look at the situation in Israel, and still be blinded by your religious bias and bigotry, then you are on the wrong side of everything.”
And then, this, for which she was trolled massively:
A cursory glance at Mia’s timeline also depicts that she has been responding to some of the comments that people posted – positive or negative, irrespective.
Sample this exchange that Mia had with a social media user:
In the interim, Mia Khalifa also blasted Kylie Jenner for her pro-Israel post that the latter deleted hours after she was trolled. Kylie had reshared a non-profit organisation’s post that featured a picture of the Israeli flag with the caption: “Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel.”
See Kylie’s now-deleted post here:
Mia’s reaction to Kylie’s post was cutting enough: “If true journalism exists, the next person to talk to Kylie Jenner will ask for her opinion on geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and not break eye contact until she can string one coherent sentence together since she wants to take a stance to her 400M followers so badly.”
On this note, Mia had supporters who also lashed out at Kylie for her views. Before moving on with Mia, take a look at some of the posts that people shared against Kylie for her pro-Israel post.
Now, amid the backlash that she has been at the centre of, Mia posted that “supporting Palestine has lost me business opportunities but I’m more angry at myself for not checking whether or not I was entering into business with Zionists. My bad.” This was in response to a person’s comment who called one of Mia’s posts “horrendous”.
Take a look:
And then, there was a collective message that she issued to her haters:
On her Instagram stories this morning as well, Mia posted a clip in which she said, “The occupation isn’t happening because of Hamas.”
Hamas is a Palestinian Islamist militant group which has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007. The Gaza Strip is home to about 2.3 million people. It is a 41km-long and 10km-wide territory surrounded by Israel, Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea.
Israel on Saturday launched a counteroffensive to wipe out Hamas’s hideouts in the Gaza Strip, after the group launched 5,000 rockets into Israel and its members infiltrated the country by land, air and sea.
The three-day conflict has already claimed the lives of over 1,100 people, with more than 700 killed in Israel, including 44 soldiers.
