Kylie Jenner has revealed there was another secret name in the running for her son Aire, who was born on February 2, 2022 (and who was initially known as Wolf).
Apparently, for a period of time, the name “Knight” was also very much in the running. The reality star shared the tidbit while opening up about the impact of postpartum depression and how she feels hormones hindered her ability to settle on a name that felt right.
Speaking to Vogue about the son she shares with Travis Scott, the 27-year-old reflected on how difficult that period of her life was and her advice for other mothers. It’s thought that more than 1 in 10 women will experience postpartum depression, as per the NHS, and that—while rare—men can also be impacted by it (minus the hormonal-related changes).
“[Postpartum depression] hit me differently both times. Probably with my son it was major baby blues, so I was just so emotional over things that I probably wouldn’t be that emotional about [typically]. On the phone with my mom all day hysterically crying, saying, ‘I can’t figure out his name,’” Kylie said. “Now my advice is pick the name before, because when the hormones hit you can’t make decisions[…]I felt like such a failure that I couldn’t name him. He deserved so much more than that.”
Kylie confessed it ultimately took her a year to decide that Aire really *was* the right name.
“My son’s name was actually Knight for a long time and my daughter, still to this day, is like, ‘Do you remember when Aire’s name was Knight? I like Knight better’ And I’m like ‘No[…]you know what, we are not doing this again’”
