Kylie Jenner believes the Kardashian-Jenners need to have a tough conversation about the new-age beauty ideal that they’ve contributed to.
In a trailer for the upcoming third season of The Kardashians on Hulu, the show teases a scene in which Kylie, 25, addresses the unrealistic expectations the sisters have set over the years.
“All of us just need to have a bigger conversation about the beauty standards that we’re setting,” Kylie said to her sisters in the scene.
“I don’t want my daughter to do the things I did,” she continued in the trailer. “I wish I’d never touched anything to begin with.”
While all the Kardashian-Jenners have been criticized for their contributions to the uptick of plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures, Kylie has been one of the biggest targets for how she’s influenced the beauty standard — particularly lip injections. Kyle said in an interview with Homme Girls published last week that a “big misconception” about her is that she’s had “so much surgery on my face and that I was some insecure person.”
“I really wasn’t,” she continued. “Yeah, I love full lips and wanted full lips, but growing up I was always the most confident person in the room. I was the girl performing for everyone.”
The Kylie Cosmetics founder also addressed her famous lip filler, which she first admitted to getting in 2015.
“I had my one lip insecurity thing, so I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret it,” she told Homme Girls.
Over the years, the reality TV family has been criticized for their influence on fans, including Kim Kardashian’s signature hourglass body, which many have speculated is the result of plastic surgery. Kim faced backlash last year for saying in an interview that her beauty is “attainable.” Many people believed her comments denying her contributions to the standard were out of touch.
The full conversation between the sisters is set to occur sometime during the third season of The Kardashians, which will premiere on May 25.
