Following the announcement of her split from husband Richie Myers, a source has exclusively informed OK! that Helen Skelton sees there being “no way back” for the former couple.
Fan favourite television presenter Helen, 38, took to Instagram to break the sad news to her 277,000 followers.
Posting text over a black background, the Countryfile star disclosed: “Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children.” She ended the message with two broken heart emojis.
Former professional rugby player Richie, 31, is yet to comment on their unexpected split.

Despite this, a source close to Helen has exclusively told OK!: “She has been struggling recently. She has three very young children, one of them is only four months old and she’s had a real struggle with being a mum.”
Helen and Ritchie welcomed their third child – a daughter, Elsie – just four months ago.
The pair, who have been married for a total of eight years, tied the knot back in 2013 and also share Ernie, six, Louis, five, together.
“It’s so sad, but friends don’t think there is a way back for them,” our source explained.
“She’s [Helen] really sad about it. Friends are really worried for her, but there is no way back sadly.”
Heartbroken fans hurriedly flocked to Twitter to send their condolences regarding their separation, as one supporter wrote: “I hope they are both ok never easy thing to do kids come first”.
“Sad news about Helen Skelton & Richie Myler,” another added. “Always thought they seemed so happy but you just never know do you”.
The much-loved presenter had previously spoke out about suffering from ‘crushing loneliness’ following her 2015 relocation to France earlier this year for her husband Richie Myler’s career.
Helen claims to have felt ‘so isolated’ following the move, which took place seven years ago when the rugby star switched teams to the Catalan Dragons, who are based in Perpignan, France.
She told You magazine back in 2018: “I didn’t speak the language and I felt so isolated that I used to go into the local tourist office just to talk to someone who could speak English.
“The loneliness was crushing even though the French wives and girlfriends would invite me on their nights out, which was kind,” she added.
Despite insisting that she would try her best to blend in with the French locals, Helen admitted: “I would try to keep up by laughing and nodding – then somebody would ask if I understood and I would say no. They thought I was bonkers.”

In recent weeks, former Blue Peter star Helen has opened up to fans about her struggles with being a mother of three. Earlier this year, following Elsie’s December birth, she again took to her Instagram to speak about being “full of emotions”.
“A mama is always full of emotions. Full of love,” she explained. “Full of anxiety and worries. Full of exhaustion and lack of energy. Full of mum guilt and doubt. Full of pride in her kids. Full of pure joy.”
“She feels it all, that’s the beauty of her, she carries it all, too. And yet she gets up every day and does it all over again.”
Helen’s agent declined to comment.
