In a deadly attack, the Palestinian Islamist militant group Hamas launched its biggest assault on Israel in years on October 7. Israeli actor Gal Gadot has now organised a screening of the graphic footage collected from the Hamas attack. It will be shown to an audience of prominent Hollywood figures in Los Angeles and New York. The footage has been aired under the title ‘Bearing Witness to the October 7th Massacre’.
According to media reports, the harrowing footage, collected by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), was shown to a select group of journalists in Israel on October 23. Another screening took place for UK journalists in London later.
As per The Jewish Chronicle reports, around 120 prominent figures in Hollywood have been invited to attend the screening organised by Gal Gadot. Filming or use of the phone is strictly prohibited during the event.
The date of the screening and the guest list have not been revealed yet. The American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League are helping organize screenings of the footage.
Hamas launched the biggest attack on Israel in years from the Gaza Strip, with a surprise assault combining gunmen crossing the border with a heavy barrage of rockets. On October 7, Hamas fired 5,000 rockets into Israel, following which Israel declared war on the terror group.
The footage of the attack where terrorists murdered, raped and maimed civilians, is said to be disturbing based on reports from foreign journalists who have seen the video.
Gadot has not made a public statement about the screenings yet. However, she has frequently voiced her support for Israel.
