Back in the summer of 2019, Megan Thee Stallion was rapping about having a “Hot Girl Summer.” But fast forward to 2024, and this summer’s fashion mood is less about sex appeal and more about feeing, well, groovy, baby. (Yes, that is an Austin Powers reference). Why? This season, boho style is all the rage, thanks to brands like Chloé and Saint Laurent who have ushered in fresh takes on ruffled blouses, lace dresses, and wooden clogs. We’ve already seen stars like Sienna Miller, Jennifer Lopez, and Rihanna get on board with the look. And now, Emily Ratajkowski is ready to have a boho girl summer, too: The model was spotted out in New York City today putting her own stamp on the current trend.
Channeling the bohemian, free-spirited style of the 1970s, the boho look is all about embracing pieces that are effortless, summery, and breezy. Ratajkowski’s dainty white slip dress certainly fits the bill: It features asymmetrical lace detailing and a swishy hemline. If this were the early 2000s, when the look also had a moment, the star would accessorize with a fringed bag and Chloé’s studded Susanna boots, à la Sienna Miller. But for a more 2024 slant, Ratajkowski finished off the ensemble with layered gold necklaced, gas station sunnies, and a pair of red Puma kicks. (She is, after all, the queen of pairing dresses with sneakers.)
