The family matters between Doja Cat and her loved ones are making headlines, leading us to “need to know” what is really going on behind closed doors.
According to court documents obtained by USA Today, the “Say So” rapper’s mother, Deborah Sawyer, filed a restraining order on Friday (Jan. 12.) against her son Raman Dlamini in Los Angeles County Superior Court. In the documents, Sawyer claims she, along with the Grammy winner and other members of their family, have experienced domestic abuse at the hands of Dlamini.
In the filing, Swayer alleged Dlamini physically abused the rapper, which resulted in her “teeth being knocked out and bruises and lacerations.” Doja Cat’s mom also said he verbally abused her with “degrading and demeaning” language.
On top of that, Swayer said he verbally abused her grandson Myles with “insults, shaming and demeaning slurs.”
Earlier this month, Sawyer claimed he prevented her from entering her residence and refused to leave.
“I felt unsafe in his presence,” she said in the filing. “His actions have caused extreme fear while sleeping.”
Back in November 2023, things took a turn for the worse when Swayer alleged that he choked and threatened to kill her. In 2017, she was granted a restraining order that included a no-contact order, requiring him to stay at least 300 feet away from her and her home.
Despite these allegations, Dlamini is maintaining his innocence.
Paparazzi recently caught up with him at a public park posted by The Shade Room on Instagram when he was probed about the string of allegations set against him by his family.
When asked about the current state of his relationship with his family, he said “No,” while adding that he did not know his sister or Doja Cat.
He also assured reporters that there is “no restraining order against me.” After that, he denied any incidents between him and his family.
That’s not all he denied.
When asked if he assaulted his sister, he said, “I haven’t seen anybody in years,” while also denying “getting violent” with his mother.
