Celebrity Mastermind returned to BBC One with a brand new series on Saturday night. The programme’s new host, Clive Myrie, welcomed four famous contestants onto the quiz show where they tried their best to win money for charity. Former footballer David James, Blue singer Anthony Costa, comedian Ellie Taylor, and viral video star Jackie Weaver were the celebrity contestants battling it out. However, some viewers took issue with Jackie being on the show, with many insisting she’s not a real celebrity.
Clive began the show by introducing each contestant and detailing what they were famous for.
He described Jackie as “the unflappable host of a chaotic online parish council meeting that went viral”.
“Her subject is the science fiction trilogy The Chronicles of Riddick,” Clive added.
Jackie revealed she was taking part in a bid to win money for Cheshire Community Action.

However, upon seeing Jackie among the line-up of famous faces, some viewers took to Twitter to suggest she’s not a celebrity.

“Ffs… apparently Jackie Weaver is a Celebrity, and what have they done to Magnus?#CelebrityMastermind,”@johnbethell9 fumed.
“Three celebrities and Jackie weaver #CelebrityMastermind,” @Maninavan2 commented.
While on the show, Clive chatted to Jackie about her unexpected rise to stardom.
The host exclaimed: “Jackie it’s a pleasure to see you in the flesh, I’ve only ever seen you on Zoom of course!
“You’re known the world over as ‘that council lady’. I mean, would you have had any idea that you would basically go viral around the world?” Clive asked
“The short answer, no,” Jackie replied, causing her fellow contestants to burst out laughing.
Clive said: “You’ve now gone from council member to opening the BRIT Awards. I mean, your life’s been transformed.”
Jackie explained: “90 perecent of my life is just the same as it always was, interspersed with moments of disbelief.”
The viral video star finished the show in second place with 15 points, while the episode was won by Ellie who scored a total of 22 points.
Celebrity Mastermind continues Saturday at 6:30pm on BBC One.
