BTS’s Jungkook continues his uninterrupted reign over Billboard’s global charts!
Back in July, Jungkook made history as the first Korean soloist to simultaneously debut a song at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. chart when his solo single “Seven” (featuring Latto) entered all three charts at No. 1.
In the weeks since, “Seven” hasn’t budged from its No 1 spot on either the Global 200 or the Global Excl. U.S. chart, breaking the record (previously held by BTS’s “Dynamite”) for the most weeks at No. 1 of any song by a Korean artist.
On September 5 local time, Billboard officially announced that “Seven” had successfully defended its position at No. 1 on both global charts for the seventh week in a row—making it the first song of 2023 to spend its first seven weeks on either chart at No. 1. (Before “Seven,” the record belonged to Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers,” which spent its first six weeks on both charts at No. 1.)
During the week of August 25 to 31, “Seven” recorded an impressive 97 million streams and 12,000 digital sales worldwide.
Congratulations to Jungkook on his exciting achievement!
