If 2023 has taught us anything, it’s that fashion trends come and go at an alarmingly rapid pace. One week we can’t get enough of Barbiecore and the next, red is the new pink. However, one look that *has* stuck around is naked dressing.
From totally transparent designs to extreme cut-outs, all our favourite celebs have been unafraid to get a little naked on the red carpet in the name of a daring style statement. Case in point: in the past two weeks alone, Dua Lipa, Blake Lively, Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner have all ditched their undergarments to go braless beneath dresses and jackets.
And now Ashley Graham is following suit. Taking to her Instagram stories, the model shared a collection of snaps of herself modelling a veryyy see-through mini dress wearing just a pair of high-waisted knickers beneath the sheer mesh fabric.
The images were taken and originally shared by photographer Bec Parsons and seemed to be from the same shoot as Ashley’s Love Want magazine cover. And while see-through dresses have become commonplace this year, Ashley’s design requires closer inspection. Go with us on this.
At first glance, the garment seems like a standard mesh dress with a lilac hue, exposed seam details and a lettuce hem ruffle neckline. But the dress doesn’t actually have any sleeves… Instead, Ashley’s arms are encased within as she uses her hands to cover her nipples and push against the fabric. Hardly the most practical design.
Continuing the “huh” moments sparked by this ‘fit, Ashley accessorised the look by wearing four – yes, four – watches on one wrist.
Well, there’s no denying Ashley looks stunning and while she may not have free usage of her arms, at least she won’t be late.
