On Sunday, Ariana Grande shared some photos of from her Wicked! world, including pics of her musical co-star, Cynthia Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway hit. The 29-year-old songstress was in London, and rocking her long blonde hair for her role as Glinda.
She captioned the post with lyrics from one of the musical’s songs “No Good Deed,” writing, “up to (no) good,” and adding a broom emoji. She and Erivo linked the post onto both their timelines.
In the first three black-and-white pictures, Grande and Erivo are wearing very cute outfits, with Grande in a strapless polkadot gown with opera gloves. Erivo is wearing a plaid minidress with braided lining along the hem and neckline. In one image, they’re joined by their other co-star Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero, on set. In another pic, they’re holding hands at the dinner table and in the final one, Grande tagged the film’s director, Jon Chu, showing off their footwear.
Chu announced last week that the release date for the first movie of the two-part adaptation of Wicked! was moved up to November of 2024.
“WICKED NEWS: We are deep into production on WICKED and everyday we get more and more excited to share with u the mischief we’ve been up to,” Chu wrote on Twitter. “So…We’ve decided to get it to you all a little earlier than planned. OUR NEW RELEASE Date is NOV 27th 2024! A little Thanksgiving treat!”
Erivo recently told ET that she “was not okay” after finding out she’s landed her big role.
“I can tell you that Ariana is wonderful,” she added. “The two of us are really starting to find our feet and find our relationship and really enjoy one another’s time and space and conversations. She’s the sweetest person.”
