Arc of Monroe holding first-ever celebrity dance competition

The ARC of Monroe needs your votes for its first-ever dance competition fundraiser.

The more sparkles, the better. Just ask Mike Hayes and his celebrity partner, the fabulous Kasha Davis. They are one of five Rochester celebrities and people supported by the ARC who are paired up to compete in “Dancing with the ARC.”

What You Need To Know

  • Five Rochester celebrities have been partnered with a person supported by The Arc to learn a fun dance
  • Vote today for your favorite dance duo by clicking on the “Vote Now” button at arcmonroe.org/dancing
  • Each vote costs $5 and all proceeds go to The Arc Foundation of Monroe
  • Dancing With The Arc is Thursday, June 8 at Innovative Field, One Morrie Way, Rochester Doors Open: 5 p.m. Showtime: 6 p.m

“We like music and dancing and Broadway. I like art and do science,” said Mike Hayes, supported by the ARC of Monroe.

He might have two left feet, but funny man, Todd Youngman from Comedy at the Carlson is also in the dance competition.

“I am feeling confident. I am not a dancer at all and I am better on the stage and comedy but I really do feel confident we are going to take this one,” joked Youngman.

Holy Childhood’s Donna Dedee is a champion for people with special needs. Donna and Marce Simmons have a magical routine you don’t want to miss.

“It is so much fun. When my friends here at the ARC approached me and said, ‘Would you? I said oh really it’s really putting yourself out there a little bit.’ But, you know what these folks are amazing. It is so much fun, and I have learned a lot and I have found my inner dancer,“ said Donna Dedee, president & CEO at Holy Childhood.

You can vote now online for your favorite dance duo. It’s five dollars per vote or you can go see them dance live, in person Thursday night at Innovative Field. Proceeds support the ARC Foundation and all it does for the 1,500 people supported by the ARC in 40 locations.

“We always look for opportunities to shine a light on the abilities of the people we support. We are just so impressed with who they are as individual people and we just love to create opportunities for them to showcase their talents and also help further embed us in the community,” said Tracy Crosby, executive director of the ARC Foundation of Monroe.

You can vote for their favorite dance duo by clicking “Vote Now” at ArcMonroe.org/Dancing. Each vote costs $5 and all proceeds go to The Arc Foundation of Monroe. Tickets for Dancing with The Arc at Innovative Field Thursday are $25 each and come with a $10 food and beverage credit to use at the ballpark. They can be purchased at ArcMonroe.org/Dancing or at the door.
