Alec Baldwin gets hip replacement surgery
Days after becoming a grandfather for the first time, Alec Baldwin got hip replacement surgery. The 65-year-old actor’s wife, Hilaria Baldwin, shared a photo of the pair in the hospital on Instagram. “Alec got a new hip today…it was a long time necessary,” she wrote. “We have been through so much together…as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life.” She also thanked the doctors, nurses and other staff, while Alec added: “And you. Thanks to you.” The Emmy winner completed filming on “Rust” last month, 19 months after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on the set of the upcoming Western film. A manslaughter charge was dropped against Baldwin and Hutchins’ widow became a producer on the movie, which will also aim to celebrate Hutchins’ life with a making-of documentary.
Armie Hammer won’t be charged
Armie Hammer will not be charged with sexual assault, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday after a two-year investigation. Hammer, known for roles in “Call Me By Your Name,” “The Social Network” and “The Lone Ranger,” was accused in 2021 of raping a woman and allegedly sharing cannibalistic desires and an obsession with erotic BDSM practices. A source close to the actor told ET that he is “beyond elated” by the news and said he’s focused on his family, including ex-wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two children. “His highest priority right now is making things right with his kids and Elizabeth,” the insider said.
