The collaborative track from Rose’s upcoming solo album, Apt, has emerged as a big success and broken multiple records on music charts.
BLACKPINK’s Rose and Bruno Mars’ collaborative track, Apt, has become one of the biggest music releases of the year, shattering records on global charts. With another feather to its cap, the song has also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 as the second-largest debut in its history, even maintaining the same in the second week on both the Global 200 and the Billboard Global Exclusive US.
Thanks to the impressive first-week streaming total, the collaboration took on the top spot on the Billboard Global 200. Additionally, it has also racked up over 200 million streams across platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and more, as per Billboard.
Being the second-largest streaming debut in the history of the Billboard Global 200, Apt now trails behind BTS’s Butter, which amassed over 280 million streams during its first week. Prior to this release, the second position was also held by BTS, specifically Jungkook for his song Seven. With over 210 million streams in the opening week, the collaborative song topped the Global 200 last year. Within 11 days of its release, Apt has surpassed millions of views on YouTube alone.
Others in the Global 200 top five include Lady Gaga and Mars’ Die With a Smile on No. 2, following eight weeks on top, Billie Eilish’s Birds of a Feather at No. 3 after three weeks at No. 1, Oscar Maydon and Fuerza Regida’s Tu Boda at No. 4, and Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso at No. 5.
More About APT
Dropped on October 18, Rose and Bruno Mars’ Apt is a pre-release track from the BLACKPINK member’s highly-awaited solo full-length album Rosie. It is scheduled to come out on December 6, 2024. Its catchy chorus and upbeat pop-punk theme, inspired by a popular Korean drinking game, have gained global recognition.
The song also achieved the Global Spotify chart, making Rose the first-ever female K-pop star to secure the position. In another big achievement, Apt has ended Sabrina Carpenter’s reign on the ARIA Singles chart after debuting at No. 1.
This makes Rose the second Korean solo artist to climb the ladder after PSY’s Gangnam Style made it to the top in 2012.
