The nominees for this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards have been announced, with 21 Savage and Cardi B bringing home the most nominations. Both artists have received 12 nominations each. Drake comes in second for most nominations with nine. Burna Boy and DJ Khaled both received seven nominations.

Connie Orlando, who acts as BET’s executive VP of specials, music programming and music strategy, released a statement regarding the upcoming awards show. “This year’s BET Hip Hop Awards will mark the culmination of our year-long celebration of hip hop’s storied creation and the art form’s sonic and cultural expansion,” Orlando said.

“We are honored by this year’s roster of nominees as they continue to carry the creativity and diversity of hip-hop into the future,” Orlando added. “We congratulate each nominee on their accomplishments as they take hip-hop artistry to new heights.”
Other artists who have received multiple BET Hip Hop Award nominations this year include J. Cole with six, as well as GloRilla, Coi Leray, and Jay-Z, who all hold five nominations. Ice Spice, Nas, DaBaby, Dr. Dre, André 3000, Busta Rhymes, and Megan Thee Stallion are also all nominated.
